Hopefully I’m going to get everything done to the van before we drive to France in a few weeks. Some exciting mods… Well for me anyhow!
I made a phone call to http://www.chillijamvans.co.uk/ and had a really interesting conversation about what springs to buy. It was decided that I needed pack 4 heavy front & heavy rear. These arrived on Thursday when I promptly took it to Paul’s to have them fitted. 4 springs, 2 rear Spring cups, 2 new drop links and 2 top mount bearings.
All fitted and ready to drive again on Saturday. The back end doesn’t really sit too low yet, apparently it takes a few weeks to settle …..the ride is superb and a whole lot more ‘car like’

Off with the old … on with the new… Blue!
Other jobs this weekend…
I insulated/deadened the wheel arches. A tricky job but well worth the effort.

Time to get started with the Veltrim. I was a bit worried about this … I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to work with and exactly how it would turn out.
I needn’t have worried. Sunday (virtually all day) was spent cutting/ trimming/ sticking … Rolling! I’m just hoping that they fit when I put them back in the van. Sure as fate just as I was getting the hang of it…. I ran out of Veltrim. There was a great big seam on the last bit that I had left ….. Aargh! All I need is about 1 more metre, longer clips and some carpet to finish the wheel arches. I contacted http://www.harrisonstrimsupplies.co.uk/ to have the extra bits sent up….. Tuesday might see the beginning of re-assembly.
Oh! And there’s an oil leak…. Just emailed VW😡
