Hi, my name is James Woods. I live in Newarhill in Scotland with my wife Esther and my two children John & Serena.

I decided to start this blog for a few reasons. First of all to keep a record of all the changes and modifications I would like to do to our van, secondly and most importantly, I’d like it to be a project and hobby that myself and my son John could embark on together.

I’ve wanted a VW t5 van for years but being the super fussy person that I am couldn’t find one that had the spec I wanted at the price I had in mind. Finally a few weeks ago I spied one on Autotrader from a dealer in Stockport. I drove down and had a look and test drive and the deal was done. I had agreed to go and collect it the week after.

At last! at t5.1 GP2010 twin slider with tailgate and all the toys for a price that I could afford.

Esther wasn’t too annoyed at the fact I had traded in our family S-max for a ‘van’. More annoying was the fact that we are driving to France for our family holiday at the end of June. It’s a great van, full VW service history from a reputable dealer…. What could possibly go wrong?
